Made of titanium - the new compressor impellers
Increasing charging pressures and extreme application conditions are bringing conventional compressor impellers closer to their limits. We are meeting this challenge as the first manufacturer worldwide with a new material: compressor impellers made of titanium increase the service life of the turbochargers even when under extreme stress. Due to its high cost, titanium was previously only used in the aeronautics and space industry. Through the development of a new manufacturing process we are also able to make this material available for use in the turbocharger industry. The use of titanium compressor impellers opens completely new possibilities for engine development in the automobile industry.
